AI Interaction Data: When Rex (our AI mentor) becomes available after the beta phase, we will store conversation history to provide personalized learning assistance. This data will be processed through Anthropic's Claude API.

Analytics: We use PostHog for product analytics. You can opt out of analytics tracking at any time through the cookie consent banner.

- Personalize your learning experience (spaced repetition schedules, AI mentor context, recommended problems)
- Process your account and manage authentication

4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:
Anthropic: When Rex AI mentor is available (post-beta), conversation data will be sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Anthropic's privacy policy will apply to this processing.
PostHog: Anonymized usage analytics (only if you consent).
Google: If you use Google Sign-In, authentication data is exchanged with Google OAuth services.
Piston API: Code you submit for execution is sent to the Piston code execution engine. No personal identifiers are included.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
5. Google API Services User Data Policy
Recursely's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
When you sign in with Google, we only request access to your basic profile information (name, email address, and profile picture). This data is used solely for:
- Creating and authenticating your Recursely account
- Displaying your name and profile picture within the platform
- Sending transactional emails related to your account
We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not share Google user data with third parties except as necessary to provide and improve our services. We do not allow humans to read your Google user data unless we have your explicit consent, it is necessary for security purposes, or it is required by law.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
AI conversation history is retained to improve your learning experience but can be cleared from your settings at any time.
Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for platform improvement.

We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Passwords hashed with bcrypt
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- JWT-based authentication with secure token handling
- Rate limiting on API endpoints
